Kerstin Nolte presented her research results at the Annual World Bank Conference on Land and Poverty in Washington. The conference takes place annually and attracts participants from governments, academics, civil society, and the private sector. Her presentation „Doomed to fail? Why some land-based investment projects fail and others succeed“ analysed the determinants of failure for large-scale agricultural investments. Her research shows that including domestic investors has a positive influence on the survival of such investments, whereas particularly large projects and projects growing agrofuels have a higher likelihood of failure.
