Event on AI Transformation: Presentation of the AI-Atlas

On April 24, 2025, the Institute of Economic and Cultural Geography (IWKG) hosted a symposium on the topic "Intelligent Labor Market? Impacts of the AI transformation on professions, industries and regions."
As part of the event, organized by Dr. Lennart Schott, representatives from academia, industry, and public administration gathered at the Königlicher Pferdestall of Leibniz University Hannover to discuss the labor market and regional economic consequences of the increasing spread of artificial intelligence.

A central element of the event was the first public presentation of the interactive AI-Atlas by Matthias Kapa (IWKG), which enables a detailed analysis of regional developments in AI-related labor market demand. The atlas sparked great interest and served as the basis for intensive professional discussions and exchanges on future strategic approaches.

The IWKG would like to sincerely thank the project partners PD Dr. Anne Otto (Institute for Employment Research), Dr. Gábor Kismihók (Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology), and Matthias Ullrich (HI-REG) for their contributions and valuable expertise.

The symposium marked an important milestone in the knowledge transfer between research and practice within the project "Intelligent Labor Market?", funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture and led by Dr. Kerstin J. Schaefer at the IWKG.
